Manager, Digital & Social Media Research

Warner Home Entertainment seeks a highly motivated and confident Manager of Global Digital and Social Media research. The candidate should be well-versed in the digital entertainment research space along with being enthusiastic about social media research. The individual will define and develop all aspects of primary research studies along with managing significant secondary data sources. The position reports to the Exec. Director of New Products but also collaborates the VP and other Directors on the department social media listening research initiative.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with digital primary research (Project scope, RFP, vendor selection, data review and presentations).
- Manages the tracking of all key digital secondary research (Nielsen, Futuresource, Screendigest, etc.).
- Specifically assists with key initiatives such as UltraViolet and other digital product launches.
- Works with vendors to refine all social media title and campaign reports and improve social media ROI metrics and methods for capturing data.
- Reviews all new social media tools and vendors to gain competitive advantage and makes recommendations to VP and ED.
- Manages budget reconciliation for digital and social media research initiatives.
Job Requirements: JOB REQUIREMENTS
- BS/BA or equivalent work experience required.
- MBA or other Graduate degree preferred.
- 4+ years market research experience.
- Client side research experience in Entertainment, Technology, Videogames or Package Goods research preferred.
- Prior in-depth experience in both primary and secondary market research.
- Social media research and analysis a must. This includes online behavioral analytics, social and traditional media influencer analysis, media trend identification, and target audience insights.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong analytical skills specific to primary and social media research.
- Solid understanding of the digital entertainment landscape and products with desire to learn.
- Relentless attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; work well under pressure; superior customer service orientation and communication skills.
- Excellent basic research knowledge and communication skills.
- Ability to collect, synthesize, and summarize data and information.
- Ability to integrate data from multiple sources essential.

We are seeking a talented Senior Social Media Developer to lead social media feature development for MSNBC.com, TODAY.com and related sites. Reporting to the Director of Shared Features, this role will be the driving force for social media development, thought leadership and feature evangelization within Msnbc.com’s Creative Development Group.
The Senior Social Media Developer will act as the point person for all technical /product contacts at Facebook, Twitter etc. The right candidate will have complete command of social media technologies and possess strong skills with OO JavaScript, CSS, HTML5 as well as experience user interfaces and user experience design. Experience working with databases and analytics is highly favorable. A commitment to lean/agile development practices and proper coding standards is crucial. This role can be located in either Redmond, WA or New York City, NY.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborating with designers, developers and editorial staff to build social experiences for desktop, mobile and tablet platforms
- Staying up-to-date with trends in social media platforms and technologies, acquiring new skills along the way
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help define and develop the company’s social media strategy and roadmap
- Operate as the subject matter expert in defining social media development standards and practices for the Creative Development Group
- Manage feature roadmaps and coordination with technical /product contacts at Facebook, Twitter etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in computer/engineering related field or equivalent work experience. Master is desired
- 3 + years of web development experience
- 2 + years of experience developing Social Media applications. Social web service API experience (Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter, oAuth, etc.)
- 3 + years of commercial experience with AJAX, CSS3, HTML5, OO JavaScript
- 2 + years of mobile application and/or mobile website development experience
- Strong experience in Scrum, Agile and Lean coding practices
- Demonstrated ability to integrate with designers and content creators to develop social media features and applications·
- Excellent communication skills, time management and goal setting
- Strong interest in news content
